The Benefits Of Walking To Lose Weight

May 30, 2021

If you want to lose weight by walking, it's easy. You just need motivation. Actually, the motivation comes in so many different forms that it would be impossible to list them all here. Walking, though, is one of the most important things you can do. In fact, according to American Heart Association, "walking and exercise together can have profound positive health impacts."

According to the researchers in the International Journal of Obesity, a group of researchers headed by Yifan Yang, PhD, from National University of Singapore wanted to study the effects of a walking program on the participants' weight. The program involved a total of nine subjects. These people were asked to wear a form-fitting body sensor on their hips for two hours each day. During these two hours, they walked at a predetermined pace. They were then monitored with a computer for two weeks to see if there was a significant change in their weight.

The results showed that those who walked briskly twice a week had a significant decrease in their total body fat. Their resting heart rate also decreased. This was a very preliminary study, however. The real test came after the participants had been on the program for an additional eighteen weeks. At this point, the researchers took measurements of their heart rate and BMI (Body Mass Index). What they found was that the weight loss was significantly higher among those who had participated in the walking briskly for at least eighteen weeks than among those who participated in a fitness program only.

Not surprisingly, those who increased their walking pace saw the most significant weight loss. But, even when they decreased their pace, not all of the weight was lost. Those who decreased their walking pace saw only a small decrease in their BMI and their heart rate.

There are many reasons why increasing your walking speed will help you lose weight. One of the primary reasons is to increase your metabolism. The more calories you burn, the more weight you will lose. Walking at a greater pace burns many more calories than walking leisurely at a normal pace. Therefore, those who want to burn off extra calories have to increase their walking pace.

Another reason that increases your walking pace will help you burn calories is that it helps you determine how much physical activity you need to perform in order to reach your weight loss goals. You can use this information to help you choose the amount of calories you need to burn for a particular day or week. If, for example, you know that you need to walk at least one hour a day to reach your goals for losing twenty pounds, but you know you only need to burn five hundred calories in a week, then you can adjust your walking schedule so that you walk an hour less per day in order to reach your goals. This adjustment will make it easier for you to keep track of how much walking you need to do in order to reach your goals.

One of the reasons that walking is such a great way to lose weight is that it is not very tiring. Most people who walk are doing the activity for reasons other than simply losing weight. They may be improving their general health by walking, or they may be trying to improve their flexibility or endurance. Either way, walking is a great way to get some exercise while staying relatively pain free.

Finally, walking is such a great way to lose weight because it is low impact and therefore has many health benefits. One of the biggest benefits of walking is cardiovascular conditioning. Cardiovascular conditioning improves over time as you walk. It builds up your fat burning ability as well as your muscle strength. These two things combined can reduce your risk of developing many serious medical conditions including heart disease and diabetes. In fact, the best time to develop cardiovascular conditioning is while you are still young and healthy.
